A quiet seating corner in an office lobby at dusk

FAQ

Questions, answered

How QRedential works for visitors, hosts, the front desk and the building. If your question is not here, ask us when you request a demo.

The basics

What is QRedential?

Visitor access software for multi-tenant office buildings. A host invites a visitor, the visitor gets a QR pass by email, and the door’s video reader opens the door when the pass, its hours and its doors allow it. Every scan is logged.

Who is it for?

Buildings where several companies share a lobby: the building’s operator and security team, and the office managers and front desk staff of each company in it.

How do we get started?

Request a demo and tell us about your building. Accounts are created by invitation, so there is no self-service sign-up.

Visitors

Do visitors need an app?

No. The visitor registers on a private web link and gets the pass by email. At the door they hold the code up to the reader’s camera.

What does a visitor fill in?

Their first and last name. A phone number and a photo are optional. The host has already entered their email and the details of the visit.

Does it work in Spanish?

Yes. The app and the visitor’s registration page work in English and Spanish.

How long does the registration link work?

For 30 days. If it runs out, the host can send a new one.

Can one pass cover several days?

Yes. A pass has a first date, a last date and daily hours, so a contractor can use the same pass all week.

Hosts and the front desk

Who can invite visitors?

Office managers and front desk staff invite visitors for their own company. Building security and maintenance can add a visitor for any company in the building.

Will I know when my visitor arrives?

If you ask for it when you invite them, QRedential emails you the moment they scan in.

Can I cancel a pass?

Yes. A host can revoke or disable a pass at any time, and resend it if the visitor lost the email.

What if a visitor arrives outside their hours?

The reader scans the code, QRedential refuses it and the door stays shut. The scan is logged with its reason, and the front desk sees the visitor marked as refused.

Doors, records and privacy

Which door readers does it work with?

Avigilon Alta video readers and video intercoms, today. If your building runs a different system, tell us when you request a demo.

Does it work with elevators?

Yes. Elevators can be access points on a pass. The visitor holds the code up to the reader, then presses their floor.

Can companies in the building see each other’s visitors?

No. Each company sees only its own visitors, passes and scans. The building’s own staff see the building according to their role.

What does the door system know about my visitors?

Only the pass’s code. The visitor’s name and contact details stay in QRedential.

What is recorded?

Every scan, with its result and the reason for a refusal, and every change to people, passes and the building, in an audit log. Staff can get a morning email with the previous day’s activity.

Is there an API?

Yes. A REST API with OpenAPI documentation, using API keys limited to the permissions your administrator chooses.

Where is the data kept?

In the United States. Our Privacy Policy says what is collected, why, and who it is shared with.
